Originally aired: April 20, 2010

Special guest Philo Lim, a member of the Madonna House lay community speaks about "Poustinia: Encountering God in Silence, Solitude and Prayer". "Poustinia" is a Russian word which means desert. Poustinia is basically a place/room/cabin set aside for one to go and encounter God in silence and solitude with prayer and fasting, our food being the scriptures, the Word of God. In other words, poustinia is a desert experience... and through that experience, we find the door to our own heart where the Holy Trinity dwells

Originally aired: -

Architecture has a fundamental role in communicating beliefs, ideas, and cosmologies; it expresses our identity and culture. Sacred space in particular has, throughout history, mediated a wider relationship between our lived experience and the divine.

Special guest Michael Nicholas-Schmidt, M.Arch., discusses where theology and Architecture overlap.

Questions to think about as you listen:

How can the way we construct, occupy, and interact in our city be an act of faith?
