The World Family of Radio Maria
The World Family of Radio Maria is a non-governmental organization (NGO) which was legally established in 1998 and its founding member is the Italian Association Radio Maria. It is currently composed of forty national Associations associated members, present in just as many countries and scattered throughout the various continents, eleven of these in Africa.

Dear Radio Maria listeners, we share with you all the “WORLD FAMILY NEWS”, appointment with the information of the World Family of Radio Maria.
Dear Listeners,
2011 has been a successful period for Radio Maria. First and foremost we have witnessed the birth of four new emitters. Two are on the African Continent (Cameroon and the Ivory Coast), one in Europe (Belgium) and the fourth in Asia (India). This confirms the global nature of the project that, year after year, Mary wants to develop all over the world.
We will remember 2011 however as being the year during which training began to develop in a harmonic and global way with two particularly significant events: a training course in Africa in Tanzania (Dar es Salaam) for the presidents and directors of the whole of Africa and a course in Latin America (Guatemala) for presidents, directors and coordinators from the whole American Continent in both Spanish and Portuguese.
I keep in my heart the emotions of these two meetings, so very different but at the same time so similar due to the love expressed by all who attended.
For Africans this was the first experience and I am grateful to Johanna Hulatsch, Paolo Taffuri and Jean Paul Kayihura for having organised everything so well from a religious house where we were guests. The personal accounts have been touching and everybody brought their own problems, their own successes and also their own failures in a spirit of great humility and great willingness to learn.
For Latin America, Radio Maria Guatemala organised the course in an exemplary way right down to the last detail. The Foreign Ministry offered large flags for this event to every representative nation, including Italy as the headquarters of the World Family and the Vatican flag due to the presence of the Papal Nuncio. Also, it took on the role of managing the catering of the property thanks to the help of a chef of local prominence, who has a radio broadcast every week: the volunteers who served at the tables did so with a love that only Radio Maria could see.
All of this work was organised by a committee made up of directors from Argentina and Costa Rica and presidents from Peru and Guatemala, together with the staff of the World Family.
In 2011 the training team was strengthened with the arrival of Valentina Scorza who, under the guidance of our historic volunteer for human resources (Pia Gaiazzi), will take care of training events.
In 2011 international courses also continued in Italy for priests and presidents, whilst in Dar es Salaam these were held for administrators, coordinators and promoters.
Let us hope that in 2012 the training can continue on all levels in view of the fifth World Convention that, as always, will take place in Collevalenza and Roma from the 7th to the 12th of October.
The “Radio Maria for Africa” project began positively and the listeners are very happy to have the opportunity to get to know one another across different continents and to pray together.
Finally, the Year of Promotion is drawing to a close and an army of ants has been created everywhere to help Mary in Her task.
All of this is happening thanks to your prayers and generosity: let us continue to try everyday to do something extra and to do it better.
