Who are the Volunteers?
Volunteers are those who work in the evangelizing mission of HMWN Radio Maria. They’re Christians, seriously concerned about their own spiritual life and the salvation of the world, who choose to participate in the growth of HMWN Radio Maria, in the community in which they live not for personal gains or interest, but solely for their love of Christ and his heavenly Mother. To do this they offer, not only a financial contribution, as do all the listeners, but a more precious contribution: that of their time, talent and energy. In doing so they are aware that their contribution is a ministry to the Church and an apostolate for promoting the message of the Kingdom of God in our world.
Different kinds of Volunteers
There are four kinds of volunteers who help HMWN:
a) Programming Volunteers (Priests and lay people)
b) Office volunteers (administration and public service)
c) Studio and mobile studio volunteers (technical assistance)
d) Parish Team Volunteers (local assistance)
The Parish Team
a) The Formation of the Parish Team
The first step in establishing a Parish Team is to form a group of 3 to 5 volunteers, one of them acting both as Parish Representative and Contact Person with the office. Ideally a Parish Team should include the representatives from:
• Church Lay Ministry (Lectors, Ministers of Communion , Choir, etc.)
• Youth
• Prayer Group
b) General Responsibilities of the Parish Team
• Keep the Parish Priest and Parish Council aware of HMWN Radio events
• Update HMWN Radio Maria , and in particular the News Team of special
parish events.
• Keep in consignment donation envelopes to be
distributed as requested.
• Obtain and keep in consignment all materials that will be distributed in parish;
