HMWN Radio Maria is a Catholic Radio Station based in Toronto, ON. Our programming can be heard via our website through a live streaming service or by visiting our Audio-Archive section where one can listen to past programs. In addition to listening via our website, HMWN Radio Maria can be heard by purchasing a special modified radio.

Because Canadian law does not permit the broadcast of a 24 hour religious radio station on mainstream radio, we must continue to come up with alternative means of getting the message out.

We are a not for profit organization.  We rely soley on the generosity of our listeners for the financial means required to run the station. Therefore no advertising is heard on HMWN Radio Maria.

WHATS_NEW
On September 20, 2008 HMWN Radio Maria volunteers came together to review the results of our recent 'Listener Survey'. Those present also took part in a brainstorming session focused on finding ways in which we can improve and expand the station. Alot of great ideas were shared, many insights were made and we are confident that over the next year many new improvements and growth will be made.

A couple of key points to note include the need for more volunteers and the need to make more people aware of us. These go hand in hand. We cannot do this alone and we need more help. The number of volunteer program hosts continues to grow, which we are thankful for. However we are in need of more help in the office, making phone calls, sending emails, sending letters, faxes and more. As more and more programs hosts join the team, we see the need for volunteers with computer skills to do audio editing, script writing, research, website design, graphic design and more. To get the word out there about HMWN Radio Maria we are going to need to make more of a presence in the parishes, therefore we need more parish volunteers.

There is lots of work to do as we continue on our mission of evangelization. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering with HMWN Radio Maria in a positive Catholic environment, give us a call or send us an email.

The Rosary in the Schools is back...!
The Rosary in the Schools Program has been received and continues to enjoy great success in many of our Catholic schools.  October 2005 marked the beginning of our HMWN Radio Maria  daily, live broadcasts of the Holy Rosary from an ever-expanding number of TCDSB (Toronto Catholic District School Board) and YCDSB (York Catholic District School Board) schools throughout the scholastic year.

Rosary in the School ImageWe continue to expand our list of participating schools and this 2008-2009 scholastic year marks the presence of 20 TCDSB and YCDSB schools presently involved.  Schools include Pope John Paul II, Father John Kelly, St. Clement, St. John Bosco, San Marco, All Saints, Immaculate Conception, James Culnan, Mother Cabrini, St. Bernard, St. Clare, St. Fidelis, St. Jane Frances, St. Leo, St. Raphael, St. Robert,  St. Thomas Aquinas and Transfiguration of our Lord.    Thousands of students have participated in reciting the Holy Rosary, live on air, and have been touched by the power of prayer, while learning about the life of Jesus and His mother, Mary, through the mysteries of our faith.

Among the schools participating, all have found a renewed sense of community and fraternity.  All our students express the same message of strengthening their faith, enriching their spiritual growth, and deepening their commitment and relationship with God, through their praying the Rosary.   Visit the Rosary in the School section at www.hmwn.net/schoolrosary and read for yourselves the powerful words and testimonies from the mouths of our children.

Please join in, listen and pray with us between 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. daily during the school year, visit our Archives to listen to a past broadcast of the Rosary from a variety of our participating schools and/or listen to your children in an encore daily broadcast at 5:00 p.m.

It has been a positive experience for all those involved, and it is our hope that we continue to expand to include other elementary schools and students in the scholastic year 2008 -2009 .

We thank all those who are helping us to make this project a continued success.

God Bless,

Loredana

Audio Archive update
From month to month, one of the most popular sections on our website continues to be theAudio Archive feature. The Audio Archives contain links to [ast programs aired on HMWN Radio Maria. Although the Archive system in its current state has been a blessing to many we feel that some improvement are necessary.

In 2009, we will be unveiling our new Audio Archive system. Some of the key features will include:

· The option of downloading free MP3 files from the Archive system.

·A new search function which will allow people to search for programs by keyword, subject, program name, program host and more.

·An update to the way the archives are presented and displayed

· A list of the most recently added archives.
